Monolith is led by Zack Worrell and Nick Watson, two knife makers based in Charlottesville, Virginia, creating tools that belong in your daily life and will last a lifetime. Zack founded Monolith in 2013 after years working across design, architectural restoration, metal crafting, and woodworking. What began as an exploration of materials has grown into a small team deeply committed to their craft. Nick later joined the studio after graduating from the University of Virginia’s studio art program, bringing both an art and architectural perspective. Much of his inspiration comes from time spent cooking for his family and the tools he reaches for every day. Together, their work reflects a balance of intuition and discipline, where every detail is considered but nothing feels overworked. The result is hand-forged, heirloom quality knives designed for daily use and made to get better with time.
