Founded in 2018, Meltz is the ceramic studio practice of artist Alex Meltzer, based in the Hudson Valley. Each piece is handmade in stoneware and often one of a kind, shaped slowly and intentionally so it can develop a personality of its own. Drawn to natural design and spaces that invite you to linger, Alex creates work that feels deeply personal. Her pieces carry a quiet sense of meaning and calm. Working across handbuilding and wheel-throwing, her forms are expressive yet grounded, reflecting an organic, modern sensibility that embraces imperfection, individuality, and the beauty of the handmade. This same spirit carries into the handbuilding workshops she hosts, where she brings people together to slow down and reconnect with the simple joy of creating.
