Four Leaf Wood Shop is the practice of Genevieve and Jack, a duo based in Ojai, California, who picked up a carving knife over a decade ago and never put it down. They were burned out from day jobs and looking for something that felt like theirs. Spoons were the natural starting point: simple to carve, deeply satisfying to use. They fell in love with the tactile work, and over time honed their designs into pieces that are both functional and expressive, meant to move from your stovetop to your dinner table. Every piece is handcarved from solid walnut, cherry, or maple — hardwoods chosen for their natural beauty, durability, and antibacterial properties. No stains, no glues, no mystery sealants. Just mineral oil and beeswax, letting the grain speak for itself. These are clean tools that are built to be cooked with and made to last. Most of Jack and Genevieve’s work is quiet and meditative, but what they love most is stepping out of the workshop, showing up to markets and craft shows to connect with their customers face to face and share the story behind each piece. And the most satisfying moment in the workshop? Oiling up a finished piece and watching the wood grain finally come alive.
