Sherród Faulks founded the ceramic design studio DEEP BLACK in 2020 and transitioned from a career in software development to that of a craft designer two years later. DEEP BLACK’s style is mid-century ultra-modern and every creative decision is made through the lens of play. Sherród follows one discovery to the next, weaving threads of ideation into two seasonal collections each year. This practice is the foundation for all of his adult and high school classes as well.
